We would like for you all to
know us as well as possible. You can see a few of our favorite things here but we greatly encourage you to come to the peer
office and hang out sometime!!
The Peer Counseling program at Fort Collins High was begun in the early
1980's and is considered one of the finest programs of its type in the state of Colorado. Students
go through an extensive selection process in the fall of their junior year, are trained during the spring semester of their
junior year, and serve as peer counselors their senior year.
Our peer counselors are trained in counseling and helping skills
and staff an office at the high school all eight periods of the school day. Peer
counselors are available to help with any and all issues students may need assistance with, including school work, friend
and family problems, drug and alcohol concerns, suicide and depression information, and so on.
As well as being available for our student body throughout the school day, the peer counselors teach sexual harassment
prevention to our feeder school junior high 7th graders. They also
give awesome school tours!
